An intimate wedding at Borgo Petrognano
Wedding at Borgo Petrognano
M & G chose a charming and elegant estate in the Tuscan countryside to host their wedding day. Borgo Petrognano is a perfect starting point for one day city visit cause it is situated in the heart of Tuscany, between Florence, Siena and Pisa. This hamlet is surrounded by olives trees fields and vineyards, a perfect Tuscany postcard.
Borgo Petrognano has 14 bedrooms, spread in its 3 building, including the medieval tower. It can accomodate around 30/34 people for a timeless journey in the centre of Italy, It can host events for 50/60 guests maximum.
The Borgo doesn’t have a proper plan B for larger groups but an indoor room can host a dinner for around 40 people.
The day before the wedding at Borgo Petrognano, bride & groom (to be) welcomed the guests at the borgo in the afternoon. After a jump in the pool and a change of clothes the guests enjoyed a Pizza party, on the left side of the terrace where a wooden oven is situated. A pizzaiolo was preparing and cooking Pizza in front of the guests. It was an informal and nice evening, ended with a tasty chocolate cake to celebrate the bride’s mother birthday.
On the day of the wedding at Borgo Petrognano, all the vendors, Armilla beauty, David Bastianoni studio photographers, musicians from Firenze Classica, Dj and Maurizio from Flowers Living, arrived in the early morning to start their service or set up. Hairdresser and Make up artist, and photographer reached the bride to be in the two floors suite, where she got ready with her maid of honor and her lovely daughter. After the getting ready she walked downstairs on the lower level to reach the ceremony area, where all the guests were already seated. The Bride walked the aisle alone, and it was a really moving moment.
The ceremony took place in the small pergola under the panoramic terrace, it was a symbolic ceremony with the sands rite, bride and groom and their daugheter mixed different colors of sands in a bigger glass vase. As for the candle ceremony the sandle ceremony symbolizes the coming togheter of two people into one new family. In this case their daughter as well added a layer of color to express the unity and the harmony of the entire family. It’s a simple rite but it can be incredibly touching.
The ceremony was masterfully accompanied by Firenze classica musicians a classical duo, composed by a violin and a cello.
The swimming pool is a magical place where guests can take a sunbath during the stay or where guests can enjoy the aperitif during the wedding day like happened during this wedding.
Usually a wedding at Borgo Petrognano hosts the wedding dinner under the pergola on the panoramic terrace. But M & G, preferred a garden vibe and they asked to arrange their wedding dinner in the lower Garden.
The garden was decorated with a fairy light sky, that created a romantic atmosphere, and the tables and the live cooking area was decorated by the magical hands of Flowers Living florists.
After the dinner all the guests moved to the panoramic terrace for the cutting of the cake, the first dance and the dancing.
The cutting of the cake was planned under the pergola, the cake was on a round table under the chandellier, it was an unforgettable frame, perfect for a memorable photo.
After the Millefoglie cake, that is a the typical italian wedding cake, the guests moved on the terrace to watch the newlyweds first dance, and start dancing themselves right after.
