A wedding anniversary celebration: Green, White and Red nights in the Chianti hills

Villa di Catignano is one of the most requested wedding venues in Tuscany. It has a lot of charm, because it is very genuine and it combines two different styles: the Neoclassical Villa and the Rustic farmhouse, both elements that characterize real Tuscany.

The Villa is situated in the Chianti area, just 10 kilometers outside the Siena city center. From the Villa Garden it is possible to see the Siena skyline, nestled on the top of the hill.

The venue is composed by two different buildings: the main Villa from the 17th Century and the Farmhouse, dedicated to the production of olive oil and wine. Both buildings offer accommodation: the farmhouse has typical Tuscan countryside apartments and the Villa has seven apartments with original frescos and paintings. The Villa can accommodate up to 80/90 guests in total.

The Villa has breathtaking outdoor areas: the courtyard in front of the Villa, where the wedding dinner can be hosted; the courtyard in front of the fattoria for the welcome dinner; the Italian gardens with views over the Chianti hills for ceremonies and aperitifs. A private Chapel can host around 50 guests for Protestant ceremonies.

A couple who had celebrated their wedding at this same Villa decided to return for their wedding anniversary, booking the entire estate for one week and hosting four food events.

The first was an informal welcome drink at the guests’ arrival with a Tuscan buffet, managed by Event’in.

The other three events were sit-down dinners, each characterized by one of the three colors of the Italian Flag: green, white and red.

Green Night

The dinner was arranged in the Villa courtyard with an Imperial table for 50 guests. The dress code invited every guest to wear a green item or accessory. Wedding Music and Lights provided the string lights décor, while Stiatti Flowers decorated the table with a romantic rustic look using olive trees, sage, rosemary, thyme, and lavender. Class Ricevimenti served a classic Italian al fresco dinner with a live Pizzaiolo and a Folk trio of accordion, guitar and violin.

Green Night

White Night

This dinner took place in the Farmhouse courtyard, with everything in total white: country tables, Chiavarina chairs and mise en place. The tables were set in a sun rays shape with a big white spheric moon light by Wedding Music and Lights at the center. The florist used glass vases of different sizes filled with gorgeous white Hydrangeas. The dress code was total white.

Red Night

The final dinner was again in front of the Villa, with a long imperial table featuring Toscana brown chairs, white tablecloths and vintage glass under-plates. The floral decoration by Stiatti was entirely red — a brave and spectacular choice. The dress code was of course red.
