Mehndi Party in Tuscany

In Indian cultures, a wedding isn’t just for one day but is rather a series of celebrations that take place before and after the couple ceremony.  This Indian Wedding in Italy started on a Friday night with Mehndi Party in Tuscany and a welcome dinner in an amazing farmhouse situated in the Carmignano hills.

First, guests to this Sikh Ceremony were treated to pizza, pasta and fine Tuscan wines.

Ladies had the opportunity to have Mehndi applied to their hands, an important rite in the Indian weddings. In the Indian Tradition the Mehndi Ceremony is organized by the Bride to be’s family, bringing together the female components of each side. The significance of applying Henna is to utilize its medicinal herbal remedies, to relive the Bride of stress before the wedding day. The tradition says that the deeper the colour of the bride’s Mehndi, the happier the marriage will be.

Nowadays Indian Weddings have adopted a new tradition adding songs and dance to the henna Ceremony, this night is became a second Sangeet, to keep Bride & Groom’s families together to celebrate the couple before their exchange of wows.
