Hindu Wedding at Borgo Stomennano: A Three-Day Celebration in the Tuscan Countryside
D & A’s enchanting Hindu wedding at Borgo Stomennano in the heart of the Tuscan countryside was a mesmerizing blend of cultural traditions and breathtaking landscapes. The couple chose this historic venue to bring together their 60 guests from across the globe, including India, the UK, and the USA, for an unforgettable three-day celebration.
Day 1: A Warm Welcome – Hindu Wedding at Borgo Stomennano
Upon arrival at Borgo Stomennano, guests checked into their elegantly appointed rooms, each offering a glimpse into the estate’s rich history and charm. As evening approached, everyone gathered for a welcome dinner set against the stunning backdrop of the Borgo’s facade. The ambiance was nothing short of magical, thanks to a romantic tunnel of fairy lights meticulously arranged by the lighting company. The talented floral designer, Lilla Floral, adorned the tables with vibrant yellow tulips, adding a touch of springtime cheer to the evening.
A fold trio serenaded the guests as they enjoyed a delectable Italian feast prepared by Class Ricevimenti. The evening was filled with heartfelt speeches from friends and family, setting a warm and intimate tone for the festivities to come. In keeping with the Milni ceremony tradition, the couple and the bride’s father gifted personalized scarves to their guests, symbolizing unity and respect. The night concluded with joyous dancing to Italian folk songs, a perfect fusion of cultures that left everyone eagerly anticipating the days ahead.
Day 2: Colorful Celebrations – Hindu Wedding at Borgo Stomennano
The second day began with a delightful vegetarian breakfast in the picturesque breakfast area of Borgo Stomennano. The estate’s chef crafted a delicious array of vegetarian dishes, energizing guests for the festivities ahead.
At 10:30 am, the Mehndi ceremony commenced in the garden. Under the shade of Indian-style umbrellas and colorful lounge areas, guests watched as the bride’s hands were intricately adorned with henna. A vibrant arch, set up on the Stomennano bench, provided a stunning focal point for the ceremony. Following the Mehndi, an Indian vegetarian buffet lunch was served beneath the garden’s majestic tree, where DJ Aery’s music enticed the younger guests to dance under the Tuscan sky.
That evening, the Sangeet party brought a burst of energy to the pool area. Brindapino served delightful pizza from an Ape car, while a vintage Piaggio Vespa offered an array of fried foods. Guests indulged in ice cream from a vintage handcart, adding a whimsical touch to the evening. The open bar kept spirits high as a DJ set the stage for a night of exuberant Indian dancing, leaving everyone in high spirits.
Day 3: Rituals and Revelry – Hindu Wedding at Borgo Stomenanno
The final day began with another sumptuous breakfast, setting the stage for the Haldi ceremony held in a garden near the pool area. Guests dressed in vibrant yellow attire participated in this joyous pre-wedding ritual, where turmeric paste was applied to the bride and groom. The stunning floral arrangements and meticulously set tables added to the ceremony’s beauty. A hearty lunch followed, allowing guests to savor the moment and relax.
As the late afternoon sun cast a golden glow over the estate, the Hindu wedding ceremony took place. Federico from Lilla Florals designed and constructed a breathtaking mandap, where the couple exchanged vows during the golden hour. The ceremony’s timing ensured that the photos captured the essence of this magical moment, with the golden hues of the setting sun enhancing the beauty of the ritual.
After the ceremony, guests enjoyed an aperitif in front of the villa, soaking in the serene atmosphere before moving to the Stomennano woods for dinner. The natural beauty of the woods provided a perfect setting for a memorable dining experience, where guests indulged in exquisite dishes while toasting to the couple’s happiness.
The celebrations culminated in the wine cellar, where the couple and their guests danced and made merry until late into the night. The intimate and historic setting of the cellar added a touch of rustic charm to the final hours of the wedding, ensuring that the memories created would be cherished for a lifetime.
D & A’s Hindu wedding at Borgo Stomennano was not just a union of two hearts, but a beautiful convergence of cultures, traditions, and loved ones.
